Yum! Brands - KFC Global: Customer App Migration Acceleration
Yum! Brands

KFC initiated a strategy to centralise customer applications across six countries onto a single unified global platform. This required migrating Customer Web, App, Loyalty, Payment Providers, Aggregators, and Order Management systems. While the strategy was clear, execution needed to be accelerated. Colmenero IO was engaged to drive delivery and complete the migrations.
Functional gaps between local platforms and the central global platform.
Requirements alignment and refinement still in progress.
Engineering of agreed, prioritised feature gaps were progressing slower than planned.
A need to strengthen technical delivery structure and execution.
Working closely with KFC's Global Head of Engineering, we designed and deployed a pragmatic acceleration plan. Our approach was hands-on, led by an overall programme delivery manager and driving the following:
Stakeholder Alignment and Planning
Conducted on-site sessions, engaging directly with key stakeholders and technical teams to confirm priority requirements and agree on delivery dates for the programme.
Technical Delivery Acceleration
Integrated a technical delivery team to accelerate requirement refinement and development of the priority feature gaps.
Final Migration Sprint
For the final country migration, Colmenero IO mobilised a dedicated pod of engineers to clear UAT-blocking defects and meet the go-live target.
The migrations were completed successfully, enabling the Global team to operationalise the centralised application and service model.
Colmenero IO became the lead partner for architecture, front-end application development, production support, and analytics configuration for the global platform.
